Precision Guidance for Every Dig

FJD Trion EC100 3D Excavator Guidance System

Work with greater accuracy, efficiency and confidence using the FJD Trion EC100 3D Excavator Guidance System.

Designed to provide excavation guidance with accuracy of up to ±3 cm, the EC100 tracks the position and movement of the excavator in real time. Clear visual guidance helps operators follow the required design, maintain the correct depth and complete complex earthworks with fewer manual checks.

Import CAD design files directly into the system and give operators the information they need to dig accurately from start to finish.

Dig Accurately. Work Efficiently.

Traditional excavation can depend on repeated setting out, grade checking and communication between the operator and site team.

The FJD Trion EC100 displays the excavator’s position, bucket location and design information inside the cab. Operators can compare live excavation progress against the project model and make informed adjustments without constantly stopping work.

Shape the ground with certainty, Stay in control

You can view machine location and status in real time.

View project progress and resource data in one place. Support schedule tracking and risk monitoring.

RTK Calibration

The EC100 supports RTK calibration using the FJD Trion V10a GNSS Rover. This provides a practical alternative to calibration with a total station and can complete the process in approximately 30 minutes.

Total Station Calibration

For projects using traditional surveying equipment, the EC100 also supports total station calibration. A guided five-step process helps professional users complete the setup accurately and efficiently.

Electronic Safety Boundaries

Custom electronic boundaries can be created around restricted areas or potential hazards.

If the machine approaches a defined boundary, the EC100 provides an audible warning to alert the operator. This can help reduce the risk of collisions, protect surrounding infrastructure and prevent excavation beyond the intended working area.

Electronic boundaries may be used around:

  • Existing utilities
  • Buildings and structures
  • Site limits
  • Overhead or adjacent hazards
  • Restricted excavation zones
  • Maximum or minimum digging depths

Reliable Guidance for Dredging Operations

The EC100 can be configured for water engineering and dredging applications.

Roof-mounted GNSS antennas, IP67-rated sensors and a specialist waterproofing kit help the system maintain dependable performance in demanding environments where water, dust and difficult working conditions are common.

Standard Kit for FJD Trion EC100

Control Module

The IP67-rated control module supports wired and wireless connections and includes versatile interfaces for integration with the EC100 system.

Its dust-resistant and water-resistant construction supports reliable performance in demanding construction environments.

High-Performance Central Display

A powerful eight-core tablet delivers responsive in-cab performance and presents machine, design and guidance information through a clear visual interface.

Precision IMU Sensors

IMU sensors monitor the movement of the excavator body, boom, arm and bucket. Their rapid output supports smooth, real-time guidance throughout the excavation process.

Vehicle-Grade GNSS Antennas

Anti-vibration GNSS antennas provide stable positioning and strong resistance to interference, helping the system maintain dependable connectivity during operation.

Specialist Kits for FJD Trion EC100

The FJD Trion EC100 supports a comprehensive selection of accessory kits for different excavator and attachment configurations.

Tilt Bucket Accessory Kit

Ideal for slope finishing, profiling and ditch excavation, the Tilt Bucket Kit enables the system to track the movement of the tilt bucket accurately.

Operators can shape slopes and clear ditches with fewer machine movements, supporting a smoother and more efficient finishing process.

Two-Piece Boom Accessory Kit

Designed for deep excavation, extended-reach work and river dredging, the Two-Piece Boom Kit allows the EC100 to monitor more complex boom movements.

This helps operators maintain accurate bucket control at greater depth and reach while reducing the need to reposition the excavator.

Swing Boom and Offset Boom Accessory Kit

The Swing Boom and Offset Boom Kit supports close-edge excavation in restricted areas.

It is particularly suitable for roadside ditches, utility work and excavation alongside walls or existing structures, where precise movement is required within a limited working space.

Suitable Applications

The FJD Trion EC100 can support accurate excavation, grading and shaping across a wide range of projects.

FAQ - EC100 3D Excavator Guidance System

What is the FJD Trion EC100?

The FJD Trion EC100 is a wired 3D excavator guidance system that uses GNSS positioning, IMU sensors and digital design data to guide excavation work in real time.

The EC100 provides excavation guidance with accuracy of up to ±3 cm when correctly installed, calibrated and operated under suitable positioning conditions.

Yes. CAD design files can be imported directly into the system, allowing the operator to compare the live position of the excavator and bucket against the project design.

Not necessarily. The system supports RTK calibration using the FJD Trion V10a GNSS Rover. Total station calibration is also available for projects and users that require it.

Yes. A dedicated Tilt Bucket Accessory Kit is available for applications such as slope shaping, grading and ditch excavation.

The EC100 supports accessory kits for two-piece booms, swing booms and offset booms, as well as tilt bucket configurations.

The EC100 supports accessory kits for two-piece booms, swing booms and offset booms, as well as tilt bucket configurations.

Electronic safety boundaries are digitally defined limits around hazards, structures or restricted areas. The system provides an audible warning when the machine approaches one of these boundaries.

Applications include road construction, trenching, utilities, slope grading, mining, dredging, landscaping, golf course shaping, airfield construction and bridge substructure work.
